Stranded Sri Lankans in India return home
Sri Lankans including pilgrims, who were stranded in India due to inclement weather conditions including floods, were able to return to the country yesterday. Accordingly, 22 Sri Lankans who were stranded, arrived in Sri Lanka last evening in two special flights deployed by the government. According to Srilankan Airline sources, 102 pilgrims arrived in the country by a Mihin Lanka flight operated from Buddhagaya, while 120 pilgrims who were in stranded in relief camps due to floods in Chennai, arrived in the country by a Srilankan flight.
