Pugoda Magistrate grants bail to Nadesan

Thirukumar Nadesan, a relative of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrested for his alleged involvement with a controversial 16-acre plot of land in Malwana, and produced before the Pugoda Magistrate’s Court was ordered to be released on bail yesterday. Nadesan, the husband of former Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa, was ordered to be released on a cash bail of 50,000 with two sureties of one million rupees by Pugoda Magistrate D.A.Ruwan Pathirana. The suspect was barred from leaving the country. Nadesan was arrested yesterday after he arrived to make a statement to the FCID in connection with ongoing investigations into a 16-acre plot of land in Malwana.
