Six indians Arrested over sold kidneys
The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) conducting investigations into a kidney racket involving Indians and Sri Lankans, informed Court yesterday that six out of eight Indians arrested for over staying without valid visas have sold one of their kidneys at a price of Indian Rs. 500,000 each. Filing a further report in connection with the incident, Colombo Crimes Division OIC Chief Inspector Nevil Silva informed Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris that the Judicial Medical Officer in his report has confirmed that the kidneys of six arrestees have been surgically removed.
