Minister Palitha arrested

Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma was arrested by Police, a short while ago. Two others were also taken into custody. Thewarapperuma had forcibly discharged himself from hospital earlier today, to stand together with the parents of the ten children denied admission to the Meegastenne Primary School, who were arrested earlier today. The Deputy Minister was in hospital receiving treatment after attempted suicide on behalf of the children, last week.
