Death threats on Jayampathy

UNP parliamentarian and President’s Counsel Jayampathy Wickramaratne told Parliament he had received death threats over the telephone. The MP said he had received a call from an unknown person who had proceeded to unleash a string of verbal abuse at him, before making a threat against his life. Speaking to Daily News MP Wickramaratne said he had lodged a complaint in this regard with the Welikada Police today. “I will not stand for this sort of threat against my person,” the MP said, alleging that the act was by a cowardly political extremist.
