Kurunegala Police Patrol vehicle shot : One killed

A Kurunegala police patrol vehicle was shot at in Maspotha, Welagane on the Kurunegala-Puttalam Road. An SI was killed, while a police constable and a police sergeant were injured in the attack. A complaint had been lodged at the Kurunegala Police Station through the Police Emergency Number saying that two persons were behaving suspiciously at a hotel in the area last night. Reports say that the attack occurred when the Patrol vehicle made its way to the location. The two police personnel injured in the incidence have been admitted to Kurunegala hospital. It has not yet been revealed who was responsible for the attack.
