Speeding safari jeep kills mother, daughter

A woman and her daughter died on the spot when a speeding jeep knocked them down at Pubbogama in Galkiriyagama yesterday noon. P. G. Amarawathie, 49 and her daughter, Indika Niroshani, 24 died in the incident. A one and a half-year-old child, Niroshani’s son was admitted to Dambulla Hospital with minor injuries. The incident occurred when they were walking along the Pubbogama road with Niroshani carrying the infant. The jeep, modified for safari trips had knocked them down from behind and crashed into a nearby tree.
