Alleged sexual abuse of girls: 4 Remanded

KANDY – Four suspects including two women held on remand following a complaint of sexually abusing young girls of a leadership training centre at Hantana were further remanded till August 22 by the Kandy Chief Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala yesterday. The suspects were on remand till yesterday (11), when they were produced in court by the women’s and children’s bureau of the Kandy police. The four remanded are Chandimal Gamage (private tuition master), Imesha Kumari Wickremasinghe (matron of the training centre), Nuwandi Weerasinghe (cashier of the training centre) and Nimal Nishantha Peiris (businessman).
