Geetha Replies to PM Ranil

Opposition Parliamentarian Geetha Kumarasinghe provided entertainment in Parliament this afternoon, joining debate on the adjournment motion by Opposition member Dinesh Gunawardena. When asked, in jest, how she could refuse the Premier's invitation (on Thursday) to join the government, she replied that it was possibly because the Prime Minister had lost faith in his own members, that he was extending invitation to the opposition. "I will not join this incapable government," MP Kumarasinghe said. She did say however, that if the Prime Minister kept to his word and developed tourism zones in Ariyala and Dedoowa, she would engage in discussion with the government.
