Residents near Salawa army camp protest

The Colombo-Avissawella (High Level) Road has been blocked near the Kosgama army camp in Salawa by area residents this afternoon. The residents are holding a protest and demanding that authorities take steps to clear the debris from their homes, which sustained damage due to the explosion at the camp's ammunition dump on June 5. Many houses and other buildings in the area have sustained severe damage due to the incident and efforts are continuing to clear the debris from the houses.
