PM Ranil hindering new CB Governor slot

The National Freedom Front (NFF) yesterday claimed that President Maithripala Sirisena had to retract his decision to appoint a new Central Bank Governor on Wednesday due to the alleged intervention of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran. NFF leader MP Wimal Weerawansa told a media briefing, that the President had arrived at a discussion held at the Central Bank on Wednesday evening with a letter containing the name of the new Central Bank Governor.
