JVP exposes 'Divaina' lie factory JVP press conference on 08.05.2016 Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka yesterday strongly rejected claims made by a Sinhala- language Sunday newspaper that a party-line dispute had flared in the JVP over its leadership. Speaking at a press conference at the JVP head office in Pelawatta yesterday, a concerned Dissanayaka pointing his fingers at a news report and a feature article that claimed so and highlighted “who will be the JVP’s new leader, Tilvin or Lalkantha”said , “this is targeted mudslinging, and slander.” “They were calculated to damage the people’s confidence in the JVP,” he said. “Having said that I must say that there is no element of surprise as to why this Sunday newspaper had acted this way,” he said. “We are well aware that most of the journalists in this newspaper are not responsible for this, and we know where it has come from,” he said.
