Earth slip in Kandy kills one

A tragic incident took place in the Katukale area along the Kandy Peradeniya road on the afternoon of Thursday March 10. Several construction workers who were engaging in the construction of a new building in the area were trapped when an earth embankment collapsed on them. Five persons were critically injured in the incident and were rushed to the Kandy Teaching Hospital. One of the workers succumbed to his injuries.
