Relocation of Pettah Manning Market at Peliyagoda

The Cabinet has approved to relocate the Manning Market in a land of 25 acres owned by the Urban Development Authority in the Peliyagoda area. An estimated cost of Rs.4 billion, has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers for the purpose. Megapolis and Western Development Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka had submitted the Cabinet proposal in this regard. Colombo Fort and Pettah areas have been recognized as a combined development zone under the Colombo City Development Plan (2008-2020) prepared by the Urban Development Authority.
