Lanka, Pakistan ink eight MoUs

Further strengthening existing bilateral relations Sri Lanka and Pakistan entered into eight agreements covering several sectors including Finance, Trade, Economic and Cultural sectors yesterday. The agreements were signed at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo in the presence of President Maithripala Sirisena and visiting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The official ceremony to welcome Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who is on a three day official visit was held with the usual grandeur in front of the Presidential Secretariat amid a gentle sea breeze. The artillery regiment of the Sri Lanka Army accorded a 21 gun salute to the visiting Prime Minister after which he reviewed a guard of honour presented by the Tri Forces.
