Father murders child by throws the infant onto the floor

A man who had assaulted his wife and murdered his one-year-old child was arrested by the police on Tuesday (12). The suspect had got into an argument with his wife and assaulted her, and then in a fit of rage had smashed his one-year-old baby on the ground. The baby was critically injured and was rushed to the Nawalapitiya Hospital. The 25-year-old mother of the baby, who was assaulted, was also admitted to the hospital. The baby was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. The post-mortem of the body of the baby was conducted yesterday (13).
