Networked fingerprint database introduced

The networking program of the system software for automatic fingerprint processing with all police stations and divisions island-wide commenced at the police crimes division at Torrington today(29). Southern Development, Law and Order Minister Sagala Ratnayake was the chief guest at the event. Also the secretary of the Southern Development, Law and Order Ministry and the Inspector Genaral of Police Mr. N.K. Illangakoon took part in this occasion. In addition, police also began a program today to regulate data of suspects taken into custody so far.
