2016 New Year celebrations around the world

Many parts of the world are celebrating the coming of 2016. The city of Auckland in New Zealand is one of the first major cities in the world to ring in the New Year. A countdown and fireworks display were held over Sky Tower. New Year’s celebrations started early on Thursday in Sydney with a special fireworks display at the harbor for children. In Vienna, preparations are in full swing for the annual New Year's concert at the Musikverein concert hall.
