Student shot in stomach while stopping armed robbery

Peter Gold, a 25 yo student, was shot in the stomach in New Orleans after stopping his car to come to the aid of a man being robbed at gun point. The suspect shoots Gold in the stomach and then attempts to shoot him in the head. However, the gun jams and the suspect flees. The student is currently in critical condition.
