Leader of the National Freedom Front, Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department, was released on bail on Friday evening after being produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court.
The Criminal Investigations Department was arrested Wimal Weerawansa on the charge of having two passports in his possession, and for providing false information to the Controller of Immigration and Emigration. The Parliamentarian who was produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court by the Criminal Investigations Department, was released on two sureties worth one million rupees each, and a cash bail of Rs.10 000.
