Rupavahini chairman resigns

Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) Chairman Somaratne Dissanayake said today that he would resign his post with effect from August 3, due to personal reasons. Dr. Dissanayake, a veteran film director, backed Maithripala Sirisena at the last presidential election. He was afterwards appointed chairman of the SLRC. “I have already tendered my resignation to the ministry. If I am requested to continue as SLRC chairman, I shall have to consider it.
