Villagers’ prayers for rain answered

Villagers from Mahadapola in Nikawehera, Polpitihigama engaged in a traditional ritual atop the Madahapola Hill, invoking rain. They departed for the hilltop following a ritual at the Nikawehera Devalaya. They travelled in a perahera to the hilltop led by several elephants, where a ritual was performed at the Kande Devalaya.
