Kandy Esala Perahera 2014 First Randoli

The historical Kandy Esala Procession and festival is a revered event in the Buddhist calendar organized by Sri Dalada Maligawa-Kandy. The Procession, called “Dalada Perehera” was begun in the 10th Century AD by King Kithsiri Mewan to honor the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.
