CCTV: Explosion that killed Ukrainian journalist

Ukrainska Pravda journalist Pavel Sheremet was killed in a car explosion in Kiev on July 20, according to a statement from the Ukrainian online newspaper. The Belarussian journalist and presenter was killed in an explosion on the corner of Ivan Franko and Bohdan Khmelnytskiy streets. Sheremet was in a car belonging to Olena Prytula, founding editor of the newspaper, according to Ukrainska Pravda.

A car was seen crashing into the median of a highway in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality last Sunday and then turned over several times before being completely destroyed. Fortunately, the driver was thrown out of the car as the vehicle rolled, and landed on the grass of the median, which miraculously saved his life. Surveillance cameras along the highway captured the entire incident, which lasted only eight seconds. A driver lost control of his car on June 7 in Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province, hitting eight cars and 17 electric vehicles. The driver, a doctor, was sending his daughter to take her college entrance examination after getting off of a night shift. However, the weariness overwhelmed him, and he mistook the throttle for the break pad. After an investigation, the driver paid for the damages.

Bus driver saves 12 lives, loses his

A bus driver in east China’s Zhejiang Province was able to save the lives of 12 passengers but lost his during a terrifying accident on Friday. The 48-year-old operator, identified by his surname Bi, instinctively braked the coach when a truck’s wheel unexpectedly rammed into the windshield, taking his life on the spot. Surveillance camera footage shows the driver pressing on the brake as he faced the last moments of his life, reducing the speed of the vehicle from 34 kilometers per hour to 19 kilometers per hour in a split of a second, before lying still on the dashboard. His manoeuver saved the bus from veering in the river channel flanking the path. According to the paper.cn, a wheel from a truck in front of the bus suddenly fell and bounced off a black car driving on the opposite lane, hitting directly the bus driver.

Heavy downpours caused widespread flooding in Jixi county, Anhui Province on June 1. A reckless driver attempted to drive his minivan through a water-logging culvert, but got trapped in the deep water and the vehicle stalled. Sinkhole splits truck into two

Surveillance footage shows the terrifying moment the road under a moving large truck collapsed, sucking it into a hole. The driver managed to get out safe, albeit with minor injuries. Police dispatched four rescue vehicles to the scene, and the road is reportedly undergoing repair and fortification.

A surveillance video has shown an infant playing alone, before being knocked down by a minivan in a farm produce wholesale market in Xuzhou, east China’s Jiangsu Province. The boy, who was less than two years old, tried to crawl out from under the minivan after the accident, and his parents, who had been nearby chatting in the market, rushed over and pulled him out. Thanks to the slippery road, the wheels of the van locked, pushing the boy along for a few meters rather than running straight over him. The boy suffered no critical injuries, according to the local hospital. Police advised that parents should learn from this accident, and look after their children at all times.
