High-speed head-on collision involving govt car caught on CCTV in Moscow- A high-speed head-on collision between a BMW government car and a Mercedes was caught on CCTV. According to police, the Mercedes unexpectedly changed direction, crossed into oncoming traffic line and crashed into the BMW. The driver of the BMW has died, driver of Mercedes in in hospital. The BMW in question was assigned to the Russian upper house of Parliament, the Federation Council, had no passengers when the crash occured. The crash took place on September 2, and a police investigation is under way.

Cement tanker loses control, crushing car

A car with six people onboard was smashed by a cement tanker that span out of control, rolling over on a crossroad in Zhangzhou city in southeast China’s Fujian Province on Monday. Surveillance footage shows how the tanker lost control while turning left, falling onto a car that was waiting at a red light. Six people were rushed to hospital for treatment, with a further investigation into the case still underway.

Boy released from under car wheel

A boy, who got his leg stuck under a car wheel following a road accident in Shanghai, was released thanks to passersby who joined hands to lift the front of the vehicle. Surveillance camera footages showed the minutes of the accident which saw a car hitting an electric bicycle at the entrance of an alleyway. The father, who was operating the two wheeler, was knocked down, but his son was partially trapped under one of the car’s front wheels. Several security personnel from a nearby residential quarter and passersby rushed to the rescue, and together lifted the car to free the boy. He was then sent to a hospital, and only sustained minor injuries. The accident was caused by the inexperienced driver, who hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes upon seeing the bicycle passing.

Drifting is a driving maneuver that can be fun, but dangerous, depending on where you do it and what kind of car you have. Some drivers in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region found out just how dangerous is can be. Surveillance footage showed that in eight seconds, a cement truck drifted over 30 meters, wrecking its carriage against the front of a roadside store. According to a probe by traffic police, the truck driver braked too late and too hard while taking a sharp turn on a slick road. Though the driver has been blamed for the incident, the insurer of the truck was responsible for compensating the store owner for the damage.

Boy drives motorbike, rams into truck

Recently, a local resident in Wuhua county, in south China’s Guangdong Province, drove a motorbike with his two grandsons to do some shopping. As he stopped in front of a shop and chatted with someone, the kids were left on their own to play with the motorbike, which was still on. The five-year-old boy started the engine and the vehicle rushed out a short distance with both of the two children still on it, running into a passing truck, and sending the boys onto the ground. Luckily, they only suffered some scratches and were transferred to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Local police launched an investigation and concluded the careless grandfather should take full responsibility for the accident since he allowed unattended children to play with a vehicle while the engine was still running.
