Public assistance sought to trace suspect

The Police Department yesterday sought public assistance to trace a suspect wanted in connection with the shooting that took place at Maspotha, Kurunegala in which a Sub Inspector was killed and two Constables were injured. Police also announced a cash reward for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect. The Police Media Division yesterday released photograph of the suspect, holding two NICs with the names of Kandegeralage Chamila Madushanka (802436939v) residing from Kottawa, Pannipitiya and Jalan Kandambi Chaminda 812431935V) from Kottawa Police said the public can reach the DIG of the Terrorism Investigation Division of any leads via the following numbers 077-2001021, 011- 2451633 or 011- 2451636.
