Namal's arrest – there is no political motive

There is no political agenda behind the arrest of MP Namal Rajapaksa, Deputy Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, Ajith P. Perera said at the Cabinet media briefing yesterday, as the government denied any hand in the arrest of the son of the former President. “Namal Rajapaksa was arrested based on an exhaustive investigation and evidence”, added Perera who then went on to read out the B report filed against Rajapaksa by the FCID that stated that the initial complaint was made by the Convenor of the Voice Against Corruption and JVP provincial councilor Wasantha Samarasinghe on December 26, 2015.
