Thewarapperuma's Hotel Raid Creates Tense Situation in Galle Deputy Minister (DM) Palitha Thewarapperuma has assaulted an employee at a hotel in Dewata area, Galle. The victim, speaking to Hiru News, said the DM used foul language when he assaulted him last afternoon. The incident was recorded on CCTV camera of the hotel. However, DM Thewarapperuma has said that such an incident did not take place. Following the assault the DM has returned with officials of the Galle Harbour Police and PHIs to check the status of the hotel. They had inspected the drainage system of the hotel, and found that it was located with the kitchen. Meanwhile, some residents showed their support to the DM, while some others opposed. The hotel owner has also interrupted the reporting of local journalists who covered the incident.
