Walking path removed with LRDC approval

Tourism and Christian Religious Affairs Minister John Amaratunga, yesterday said that the removal of the Walking Path at Mabola had been carried out with the approval of the Land Reclamation and Development Corporation. He said that the Corporation had approved to widen the Wattala - Mabola walking path to 33 feet by tarring it. Speaking at a press conference in Battaramulla, the Minister said the public had not been properly made aware of the development activity. Minister Amaratunga said that action would be taken to reconstruct the Mabola walking path. "I am for the welfare of the people of my electorate," he said.
