Harin Fernando On value of the rupee

Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, Harin Fernando convened a media briefing at the UNP Headquarters in Sirikotha. He noted that the value of the rupee is depreciating because the World Bank had limited loans that could be obtained by the government. He stated that when this occurred, they pawned public enterprises and obtained loans separately which amounts up Rs. 1042B along with Rs. 6300B in total. These loans were taken to pay off the interest being paid by the people for no reason. He added that this why the PM noted that the bitter medicine will have to be given.
